Peloton Stock Drops after And Just Like That character death

So, in case you haven't seen it and you care ... read no further, but Big [played by Chris Noth] had a grabber [aka heart attack] as he peddled furiously in the saddle and kicked the bucket.

 

Once the word started circulating, Peloton's stock price tumbled more than 11%.

Now here's the crazy part ... Peloton says it not only allowed its bike to be used on the show, but it also allowed one of its instructors -- Jess King -- to play an instructor. In other words, it all looked authentic. Yet the company claims it had no clue about the plotline.

I have to admit this is probably the worst ad for Peloton  

I dont understand how during negotiations, Peloton wouldn't ask or demand that their product is only shown in a positive or neutral light? theres no way a death scene could have been approved on their end.

That sounds like how The Rock has some sort of contract that says he cannot lose a fight on screen. 

Also leave it to Americans to blame workout equipment instead of underlying health conditions and bad dietary/health habits.

lol anyway, its obvious that the Peloton isnt defective or bad for you, i guess the scene itself didnt make it look the best but still, critical thinking is an issue in consumerism for sure

So I actually enjoyed the OG series (the movies were okay) but to me personally (and im really harsh on this stuff) the show felt like fan fiction. They characters felt like over the top versions of themselves (expect Carrie ironically), they destroyed Miranda's character, and Samantha's absence is really strong and makes it feel like something is missing. 

I am going to give it a shot tho and see where it goes.

yeah, i think the show was kinda doomed from the beginning since Samantha wasn't there. 

to sum up, writing sucks, i guess? because i see people being upset with how they treated Miranda's character (just like you said). this is sad, ugh.

yeah, the writing feels like Gen Z took a group of 80 year olds and tossed them into today's climate. Its very "older ladies face woke culture" type of a show, and tbh it didnt translate well.

 i know they aren't 80, I think the show said they are in their late 50s/early 60's (except Big who i think is older in general, even in the OG series). but the writing and way they make them act is like a bunch of geriatrics  

I.e. Miranda doesnt listen to Podcasts (specifically Carrie's podcasts) just because she doesn't understand them or whatever (even tho the OG Miranda read Carrie's column religiously and what not). They really play up the whole "old school" mentality
