There are actually almost no reports of her being a “nightmare” to work for. 

People who worked with her and for her have consistently praised her and her work ethic.

If people on this photoshoot were not paid, that’s absolutely not right, but making false claims is not it either.

That being said, there are a lot of unpaid interns that work in fashion and editorial. She is probably referring to them.

Well, you will notice that everyone says positive things like "determined" "knows what she wants" "in charge" etc.... nobody ever specifically said "nice" "a wonderful person", "a pleasure to work with"... And all of that is fine, she is serious about her projects, and demands the best. Although, I think she is one of those perfectionists who demands everyone around them to be perfect, but they don't always do a great job themselves.

As much as I hate Madonna (not her music I still bop to Bedtime Story (the song haven't heard the full album yet)) I'm going to assume the artists didn't want to get paid? Like they felt it was an honor to work with her and didn't look for payment? I find it hard to believe that she would be that stingy especially considering she always talks about how she was homeless before she got famous. If I were to work for Madge I'd charge a mil for the deposit then another mil for me to work with her.
