Maybe it has more to do with the fact it’s a Netflix doc than just talking about Britney

This.. These documentaries are just as guilty of taking advantage of Britney. Celebs have no idea how she is going to be framed it in what context their quotes will be used. I can't judge anyone for staying silent and waiting for the legal process to go ahead. Bobby is as close as you can get to this case without being directly involved. I'm sure he would have asked Gaga to speak on it if that was what was needed. Sometimes you have to read between the lines. But fans, pop culture and certainly free Britney activists don't care about that, they just want a soundbite and something that suits their narrative.

With that said I am puzzled as to why Christina was so reluctant to speak on the outcome of the case. Britney has been very open about how she feels so in my opinion that gives others the permission to speak on it. Way more than all those thirsty documentary makers jumping on the bandwagon.

I'm happy for Britney, of course, and I kinda defended her in the Christina thread BUT...can this be over already?

She's free, she did it. Can we focus on other importan topics and move on? This witch hunt is getting more and more ridiculous and pathetic.

Britney didn’t support those documentaries so I think it was basic respect to decline lol

It shows how opening up about our thoughts and about the real deal, that we can become united and move on. That we have to be brave and open up when it's about to.

Tbh I understand publicists advising their clients to not talk about it (and Gaga being the rebellious and morally driven person she is, deciding against that advice), but it was the way Christina did it that bugged me. The way she looked back at her manager to get her out of the situation, and did that snarky, pouty "mmm sorry" reads very 'bitchy teenage girl' to me. Very unprofessional, and very heartless given the weight of Britney's situation. She could have politely declined. Hell, they knew she was going to get asked at some point, they had plenty of time to write and memorise a diplomatic answer! Came across so awful

Worded perfectly!

Not The Real Gaga

Nobody should be forced to say something about a certain topic. What's the point even?

Agree with you 100%, couldn't said it better. Britney and her fans have to focus now on who did this to her (her family) not random celebrities

the scars on my mind are on replay.

yeah but how showing support in private helped? yes it probably made Britney helped better for a minute or two but those ones, the girls from the FB movement, Cher, Miley were the ones constantly reminding everyone that Britney was suffering and something should get done ASAP.

This is not against Gaga i just find Britney's judgement strange. Again, she might not know all the facts yet, she have a lot to catch up.

At least she thanked Iggy! She have been talking about it for YEARS.

If you think a tweet is what helps these very complicated legal cases, then you must be very out of the loop. Especially when the media is one of the big perpetrators in this whole case.

Remember when Gaga helped Kesha behind closed doors by paying her legal fees, and supporting her personally, instead of the big scandalous Twitter drama-seeking posts? Sure, she ended up being involved in a deeper level due to the specific case, but I'm sure even if she wasn't, just by doing those things she helped a lot more than all those "Free Kesha" tweets.

Imagine being friends with someone, and when they get in trouble, all you do to "help" is tweet about it lol

Sure, we don't know what she has done behind doors to help Britney, and maybe she didn't do anything. We might never know. All we know is she was one of the few people that was allowed to talk to Britney privately for the past decade, including in Vegas, where they frequently hung out with each other. But complaining that she didn't tweet a frivolous 'Free Britney!' and judge her for that is just tactless.

I agree. But Britney made very clear she wanted PUBLIC support wich not lots of celebs did.

Gaga talked about Britney after the fact though. Gaga was on mute when her voice could have actually mattered, if we're keeping it real. Saying nice things about Britney after the fact is the easy part, hence why Xtina is so dumb - because she could have actually kept it simple and cute with a "I'm happy for her and I wish her the best."

I'm pointing this out because to this day I am side eying Gaga for saying anything during the difficult period, and I wonder if it's because of whatever Bobby has going on with Satan L*u Taylor.

But then we don't know what was happening behind closed doors and she could have reached out but in private. Not everything needs to be a spectacle and be documented on social media just so fans feel that their fav did a good deed and act like the judge and deem them good.

If Bobby truly will be Britney's manager, then I'm sure this isn't a spontaneous thing and it has been thought about for at least a few months before Britney's freedom.

I don’t think it’s a celebrity’s responsibility to have to speak on behalf of someone in a situation they may or may not be aware of all the private details of it. But I also feel like having them speak up promotes awareness and media focus on what it is they’re speaking out about, which I feel is important for pressuring change.

If Britney’s testimony was not made public and spark rage among the people who heard it when she went over all the things that they did to her, the pressure from the public and the media would not have been there and I honestly believe her testimony would not have mattered. It is very clear to many people that something corrupt was going on in the court that was handling her conservatorship.

Gaga keeps it real, no way she wasn't helping Britney behind the scenes. Britney wouldn't be saying these nice things about Gaga either if Gaga just did nothing but congratulate her once she was free. Its probably that Gaga wasn't publicly as open bc when she spoke out for Kesha she kinda messed it up for her. Something about a deposition and it put Kesha in a bad spot.
