Love to see Oh My God getting the buzz it deserves.

it is on top of 'New Music Friday' playlists in many countries and this is why it is so high

Blown Away

I'm not surprised actually after hearing the album. Many songs are over 6 minutes long and the sound isn't nearly as commercial as 25 was. Otherwise it would've come much closer to Taylor's numbers. Not sure if it would've taken the record looking at Easy On Me's numbers.

Not that it matters anyway. Adele did great numbers and at the end of the day she still is a mega successful woman in the industry, not everyone has that.

They shipped it, but it got shipped back

Its good considering less tracks plus shes not a streaming era artist.

On side note. Tay fans are miserably annoying abt this on Twitter. Its embarassing and pathetic:koons:

It's her least commercial and more experimental album since her first, with half of the songs being almost 7 minutes long, this hurts the streaming numbers, but if the songs click with the GP, the album will serve longevity

I'm completely confident that 30 would have far higher individual listens than Evermore or RedTV.

it means they have more replay value :laughga:

No, I don't think so - not when we're talking about the first 24 hours. Very few members of GP will replay (to an excessive extent) a new song or album in the first day for it to have a huge impact on overall numbers. That's the behaviour of a stan, which goes back to my original point that, for fan-driven artists, like Taylor and - yes - Gaga, their numbers are inflated by a small but powerful group. Adele's numbers are on the back of general interest, which makes them more impressive and more wide reaching.

lol. Adele ''die-hard'' fan base = the GP. What you got it right is that Taylor's sales have been fuelled by her fan base since 2017. The GP hasn't cared about Taylor since 2015.

On topic: The stream number is low because the GP prefers to SPEND money on buying an Adele album. Adele is the biggest artist in the world, the fact that some people here are reacting as if Adele is flopping... :toofunny:

omg the excuses :billie:

I'm so annoyed by the Taylor Swift comparisons. I feel like every artist gets dragged just because that woman is too successful and everyone else isn't. :wtfga:

the only reason why people are comparing bc the other day people were dragging taylor for being “local” and bringing up unwarranted adele comparisons there.

Honestly I think it comes down to a lot of Adele’s listeners preferring to buy physical copies. It’s gonna be a big Christmas gift this year.

Adele is not flopping, but she's definitely underperforming for her standard. People would spend money on her album AND stream her music too if she were the biggest artist in the world, this number is nice but not great at all and a proof that she's no longer huge as she used to be.

There's no way around it. This is major underperformance FOR ADELE'S STANDARDS. If it were any other popgirl these would be AMAZING numbers BUT this is Adele and for Adele to only debut with 60 million is a clear indication that the GP has lost significant interest or they just do not enjoy the music (I personally did not like this new project...6 years for subpar music). Adele is capable of so much more musically so this record was really underwhelming and I think the GP either feel the same way or just lost a bit of interest. Either way she is still one of the biggest artists of all time and will continue to smash for years.

To be honest, I haven't been streaming it. I've been listening to my vinyl record on repeat. I have a feeling there are a LOT of folks just like me out there.
