That's true! But the direct and simple approach can also feel generic and undercooked if the subject matter isn't necessarily that inspired to begin with, imo. No offense to Adele but her music, though relatable, has never been the most fascinating lyrically. Having a song about "I hate myself after a breakup" is probably something every popstar has already done at this stage.

I mean when you compare her songs to Taylor Swift's, who paints entire pictures and writes novels in her songs, it really does feel a lot more sparse imo, especially these new songs. Easy on Me was probably her most confessional track and half of it feels empty/uninspired to me. Just my personal opinion though, and it's great if others are enjoying it, it's just not my cup of tea!

Might be, I only listened once and copy-pasted these from a lyric website haha It's definitely better but still doesn't do it for me!
