After watching the trailer (or movie for some), does Gaga’s accent sound more Russian/Eastern European or Italian? Many on social media have voiced their opinions that Gaga sounds a bit Russian in some of the trailer clips. On twitter, Gaga Daily has started a campaign to sway the people who think she sounds Russian. Articles from IndieWire and NYPost get opinions from one of the voice coaches from the movie who claims her accent doesn’t sound very Italian - more Russian than anything. Granted, this woman was denied a role in the movie. What do y’all think? Does she sound Russian or Italian? There are a couple times in the trailer where she does sound Russian to me, Ngl. Hyperobject 66,771 Posted November 15, 2021 Share Posted November 15, 2021 not me writing the whole essay for the second thread so long that both threads are now combined and my comment is erased. anyway, once again. what people are referring to as “Russian” accent in Gaga’s case is more what people think Russians sound like and not what they actually sound like. Russian accent is different and has a totally different intonations. even if she doesn’t sound enough Italian to some of you - she definitely doesn’t sound Russian.
