They can't change existing contracts this is for future artists. And UMG doesn't own Taylors new or old masters. BMR isn't a part of UMG

I don't think so. She signed with UMG after her departure from Big Machine and has now re-recorded and re-released* two of her previous albums from Big Machine. Her biggest conflict with Big Machine was owning her masters; I highly doubt she would sign away her new masters and re-recordings after her experience. UMG is simply redefining their terms for any and all future signed artists in light of Taylor's success with her re-recordings.
