Here's one of those bad ones you all have been craving. If you read the replies, you will see he is chummy with all the other haters of the film, as they are all making fun of LMs... thankfully he's a nobody that doesn't vote for anything or count for RT.

That's exactly what I was talking about: 

There is no argument in favour of its rejection, this is the kind of commentary you can write for any film you don't like, from Citizen Kane to a Marvel film. 

On what is a judgement like "A total Catastrophe" based? Does it refer to a technical aspect or rather to the content, and in both cases, might we have a hint, a detail that allows us to understand not so much the quality of the film, but the idea of cinema of the person writing it?
  
- A badly shot film? I would be surprised
- An incoherent and poorly written script?  I'm surprised no one else noticed this.
- Too trashy content and/or dialogue? Maybe, but even the writer contradicts himself on this (first he talks about total catastrophe and then he says he enjoyed the camp moments, so he himself excludes that one aspect that would have supported his criticism)

At least judgements like "the actors each look like they're in a different film, the film has scenes of unintentional ridicule, the last part is less well written, the editing is disappointing" are based on something.

Too easy to write "a total disaster, it was a torture for 2 and a half hours I wouldn't recommend such torment to anyone" if you don't argue. 

(Let alone the use of the term "A mess" which is the Internet Animals' favorite word when they want to shade something without elaborating too much)

I agree, but also to be fair-- a lot of people are saying it's camp, but many others are saying it's too serious, etc... that sounds like a tonal mess to me haha. But that could just be that these types of films are not for everyone. Some people need paint-by-numbers movies that fit easily into a neat little box. This clearly ain't that kinda film.

The Academy is loving this. The press, engagement, and hype that it will brinf if the BA dildo is between Kristen and Gaga.

well, in this case half Pedro Almodovar's filmography, "Muriel's Wedding" and so on are a "Total mess"
