This performance is one of the BEST. I can't help but bite my tongue when I read the comments because... wasn't Elton not actually there when she performed this? Prove me wrong?  Hopefully... still such an amazing tribute, one of my faves. https://www.instagram.com/p/CV0F7jjIipL/

I was at the taping for this in NYC — Elton wasn’t there haha. Gaga filmed the day before the rest of the artists due to scheduling, and so with some TV magic, they edited her performance (Gaga did it three times) with footage from the day after (where Elton did attend and see all of the other artists perform). 
 
They make it look like she’s looking right at him, but yes he wasn’t there for Gaga’s performance. 
 

Aside from that, it’s so great!

So great, and YES to TV magic. All the comments are "She's really singing it right to Elton" etc.
