I mean, it is not surprising to me to hear her say that, I've said before that I think revisiting Chromatica is more painful for her than ARTPOP

I don't think it's like she "chose" to make it about this dark stuff, it's just that whatever she made during that time would be like this because that's where she was. I don't think she would have been capable of making an album that was not this painful for her at that time

She's not gonna retire tho.. you can tell from things she's been saying lately, like she just wants to make people smile/be happy

Gaga wanted to write a DIARY about her journey through MENTAL ILLNESS. That's her prerogative. Take it or leave it. 🙄

She felt hopeless when she wrote 911, etc. Why sugarcoat the truth?? That would be a cop out!

Should she have waited until 2022 to release a "HAPPIER" version of Chromatica? She's not your plastic doll!

@GagaUnderYou No, Gaga NEVER said she wasn't happy with the album. On the contrary. It's her true story.

She said she wanted to share her journey to help erase the stigma of mental illness. Her music is out there... For all we know she helped save a few lives. 

Remember: It's her music. Her life. Her choice.

You, too, have a CHOICE. Don't listen to her sad music. Fair enough? 🙂

You'd think by now some of y'all would be a bit more emphatic considering Gaga has been very off/on since ARTPOP, but I guess not..

Just because they release the music doesn't mean they're "automatically cured", no it's a whole process sometimes.

No, it's not odd. It's smart. There's no point in risking another breakdown IF she's not ready. Mental illness is no joke! 

You know what, Frank? It sucks to be mentally ill, but she's alive, and she seems to be doing ok. Healing takes TIME... Everybody's different.

It's odd for a pop star to release a jazz album, I guess, but no, Gaga's not in the wrong business. She's doing quite well for a pop star.

When I stayed up to midnight on May 29th, 2020 to listen to the album. I was so excited, but when I actually stated to listen to the lyrics of the album, I felt Gaga was in a deep dark place. She usual seems like she is when making records, except for Jazz. When I heard Fun Tonight and Plastic Doll, I felt her deep depression, and it triggered mine. But at the same time, I felt it was a release for Gaga and I. Music is pain, but music can be healing.

I'm grateful that she poured that side of herself into an artwork she chose to share with us. It's my favorite record of all time. There's a lot of pain in the lyrics that I relate to so much. It's indescribably the feeling that someone else knows what goes on in your head when you hear their song.

She's a jazz SINGER. She's a SONGWRITER. It's nothing new! 🙂

Gaga loves CLASSIC jazz, i.e., old songs by dead people (like classical music). Keep classic jazz alive! She's not gonna write a whole album of jazz songs.

She's also a songwriter. Writing is her outlet! She's the BOSS in her studio and I bet she loves it. 🙂

Let's not forget Gaga released a (pop) soundtrack, ASIB, in 2018. A pop album, Chromatica, in 2020. A jazz album, LFS (recorded in 2018), in 2021. 

I don't care if her next album is Pop, R&B, Rock, or whatever. I'm sure I'll love it. How about a few POP ballads like ARUTW or Shallow?

ikr, seeing gaga perform jazz is different. i love and adore all her pop performance but her jazz presence is out there.

I agree. The 911 MUSIC VIDEO was a difficult shoot for her. 

Gaga broke down during the shoot and the director was afraid she wouldn't be able to finish it. 

For the final scene, he shot her closeups first then let her go. He did the wide shots with a body double. 

My guess is she was triggered... She had to RELIVE the whole thing. "I don't wanna die."

(Her "character" died in the alternate ending.) 😢

I am speechless. 

There's no denying Chromatica although colorful electronic dance music has her most personal and VERY vulnerable and touchy lyrics she has ever written.

Replay has become bittersweet to listen to. But the superficial and subtext meaning are very hard to listen to. She had never explained this detailed about what happened to her, and listening her sing along to dance music in such a cathartic way is somewhat painful or sad to witness it. If Swine was very explicit although on a below surface level, Replay is way way more explicit and raw.

911 is also hard, because is everybody's realities right now, people need medication to be ""normal"" to be mentally/emotionally functional. But by singing and knowing context is sad that Gaga had to create this song.

Alice, "but I'm still looking for wonderland" sang in a piano ballad would be heartbreaking. It's such a nice introduction to her own inner world.

I honestly couldn't blame her if she really doesn't sing these amazing songs.
