*Because Trump has children out of wedlock (literal bastards by several definitions) and has had multiple wives.

But can they "ban" gay marriage? I mean, is the law of a state above of the law of the entire country? Idk if I made myself clear

No, they cannot. Equal marriage rights are the law in the US. If they don't want gay people to marry in Texas then they'd either have to get the SCOTUS to strike down the law (which isn't happening) or they'd have to secede from the US (which would be fatal to their state's wellbeing but it'd also be very on brand for Texas).

Whimsical bitch

Nothing. It's a political tool at this point. Gay marriage, abortion, critical race theory, they have no opinions on these things but they know their dumbass voters do :smh:

I mean the statement is trash but what’re they gonna do… be mad?? Mess…

I know, I also hate that it’s incentivized because of taxes and whatnot. I personally do not feel the need to solidify my relationship on an idea that is based out of religion.
Regardless, I do think it’s important to stop these radical Christians and push back when they try to undermine gay relationships. They’re a bunch of holy fools :yennefer:

The way this policy is only justified by “religious beliefs” and the way religion should not play a role in governance. The way Jesus is supposed to love everybody. The way I’m sorry to all the Texan queers. The way

True, religion shouldn't be brought up in government affairs.

I think it’s more about the fact that people are trying to push a message that gay marriage is “less than” straight marriages for a gross political gain, so it’s important to stop people like this. A lot of gay people still do care about marriages, even though I’m not one of them, so it’s still important to have equal marriage rights.

Personally, I am in favor of Texas seceding from the union. Then, all the wonderful people will move out and all the awful people will move in. Then, we will have all the idiots in one central location, thus allowing the rest of the nation to attain utter utopia.
