US politics are so layered and confusing and complicated and messy

They should just un-united and each state should be independently run by a prime minister and small government :derpga:

That's going to be a disaster for middle America.

I was only joking :billie:

And I don't know enough about the different parts of America to know why that would be a disaster for them. No resources? Generally bad mindsets that would lead to terrible laws? idk

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Jk, that would be bad for every state tbh. Imagine having to have a passport to go between states :rip:

Manchin and Sinema need to go ASAP. Democrats in states like Florida, Georgia, Texas, etc need to get off their asses and organize better. There's no reason we have to sacrifice any of our agenda when we control the executive branch, house, and senate and no single senator should be so powerful that they can kill a bill that the vast majority of Americans support :smh:

Democratic politicians need to start playing dirty like the GOP does too. Gerrymandering, restrict voting access in mostly white neighborhoods, do something to curb the disproportionate amount of representation the minority of rural/conservative voters have.

I'll never not vote Democrat but goddamn is this party useless half the time.

Those are our choices, folks. Evil, delusional alt-right trash or moral high-ground taking but completely inept morons. The US is f*cked.

Florida Dems organizing better?  Did you see Bill Nelson lose his seat to a Republican and condemn us to Manchinema during the 2018 blue wave?

Jokes aside, yes, please, if Florida Dems could stop being a dumpster fire, that would help us immensely.   :rip:

Biden should call their bluff and make them vote against the $3.5T bill. If it fails, ofc you try again, but Mamchin and Sinema would get bullied so bad theyd wanna resign 🏃‍♂️💨

YES :messga:

Kinda my point :messga:

Florida is the swingiest of swing states, the deepest purple there is, and notoriously immune to "wave years". Last time I checked (late in the 2020 election), registered Democrats outnumbered Republicans here by a pretty comfortable margin. After the GOP's push to register voters, they may have surpassed us but I doubt it's by much.

So there is ZERO excuse why we're suffering through the triple bullsh*t of Rick Scott, Marco Rubio, and Ron f*cking DeSantis as well as Republicans sitting at most county and city boards.

Clearly the Democratic party itself is dropping the ball HARD in this state and it seems to be a trend that extends all the way up to the federal level :smh:

Idc about having moral superiority anymore :messga: people are poverty stricken, working for slave wages in a country that charges them a small fortune for a band-aid in the ER. If you have to cheat to win then START F*CKING CHEATING :messga:

They cheat, we should too :messga:

If I were Biden, rather than cutting this stuff out of the bill to win their votes, I'd be organizing the rest of the party to run constant attack ads against them in their states.

What's the worst that could happen? They lose their next elections to Republicans who would vote exactly the same way they already are? Boo hoo tbh.

Call them out, trash them, they're DINOs. Don't let up. Run them out of town. Break into their houses and move all the furniture an inch to the left so they're constantly stubbing their toes on sh*t. Make life hell for them :nails:

Until then Democrats and Republicans alike are going to protect the system that keeps them in power.

I disagree with this. I do believe a healthy amount of Dems on Capital Hill are in it for the right reasons. The ones that aren't (like Manchin) stick out like a grotesque, mutilated sore thumb.

Everything else though? Spot on.

If Manchin didn't have a stake in coal and fossil fuels, he wouldn't be so vehemently against the environmental protection legislation in the bill.

So the answer is simple. Anyone who makes a six figure salary in senate but has an 8+ figure worth is probably a crooked piece of sh*t that needs to go :vegas:

The worst part is, they could win the state fair and square.  Like, I get that there are a lot of old conservatives retiring there, but ffs, your population is nearly 50% PoC.  Pennsylvania is 78% White, the vast majority of our Dems are concentrated in just two cities, our Western economy completely collapsed during the Rust Belt collapse, and yet we still regularly elect statewide Dems.  What're ya'll doing (or not doing) down there?   :rip:

Honestly, Florida used to be looked at as THE swing state, but after the last few election cycles, most people view it as Lean R.  Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin are likely to be the closest states for the next few cycles.

I have no idea :rip:

I went to more sign waivings, door-to-door voter registration pushes, and small events than I can count during the 2020 election and every single one of them was independent groups of people pushing for Biden and other Democrats down ballot and we still lost here. I never heard of any official Democratic party driven deal the entire time, otherwise I would have been there in a heartbeat.

Like, is that whole "Cubans hate socialists" thing really why we lost to Trump :toofunny: this whole state is stupid :toofunny:

Let's not pretend the socialism boogieman that Fox News created didn't turn Florida blood red.

Also he lost his senate seat to the former governor of Florida. He lost to name recognition and even with that is was super tight. He lost by 10,000 votes.

And then there is this.

"Bad ballot design in Broward County cost Bill Nelson 9,658 votes in ultra-tight loss to Rick Scott"

He in the end it was a couple hundred vote loss in a huge state like Florida.

What’s going on with the Immigration reform? Is it still part of the reconciliation bill or they will cut that as well?!

Oh, don’t worry, I’m very aware of the conditions surrounding Nelson losing; I was watching that race all night and ran the data to see where his weak spots were.  And I’m not blaming any individual Democratic organizer, or PoC communities.  What I’m saying is that the overall organizing structure of the Florida Dems is legendarily bad, and it’s a shame, since Florida is such a large and politically important state.
