Is young straight men Vogue's target audience? Harry hasn't really worn a dress outside of fashion magazines that are not geared towards young straight women not young straight men. I mean, everytime he is in GQ he is in a suit and tie. Even Pharrell has worn a dress on the cover of GQ. The point is the with Harry it's done for sales and nothing more.

I kind of don't understand where you are coming from.

Uhhm a magazine cover is so much more than that. You do realise that a lot of people viewed and shared the cover.
An example of this was when Jlo wore the risky Versace dress. From then fashion started pushing the boundaries and more and more starlets attempted their version of the nip slip dress. I did mention in a prior comment that Pharell wore a dress and it made no noise because Harry is a bigger pop star. So if Pharell has no traction how will a cameo actor for an Amazon Primr movie?

Harry was not the one that started the zeitgeist but he propelled it.

Well Billy is a Grammy, Emmy and Tony winning actor singer.

I mean here we are again putting down a effeminate gay POC for a straight white goodlooking man.

That's the whole point in a nut shell.

Billy might be but he’s not a big star so stop making it about race. The popstars bigger than Harry are Drake, The Weeknd and possibly Lil Nas. They are all POC so stop your race baiting.

How is this relevant? He was right. Two years later MJ Rodriguez was nominated for her Emmy. Do you think that would have happened if they weren't in the building and he didn't win?

Just like Harry wouldn't have been asked to wear a dress if he hadn't had worn one on the red carpet in several occasions.

That's all he's saying.

Unless you have an actual quote of the stylist or Harry saying they were inspired by Billy, this is not true.

And that's not all he's saying. He is directly contradicting himself. The trans stars are the heart of POSE and were not recognized, and he was ok with that, saying that as a gay man his win could open the door for them.

In the Vogue situation, Billy is MJ Rodriguez, when someone with more privilege gets the opportunity and recognition first. But now, it's not ok.

See how it doesn't add up?

He's not happy that the taboo of men wearing dresses would be eroded especially by a straight man because he likes the attention it brings him.

That's not true at all Billy is actually a POC and part of the LGBTQIA community. Not only that but he is also part of the same show. How is Harry part of anything except magazine sales numbers.  :billie:

It's a false equivalency. But go off.

No ****.

And it's not a false equivalence. Billy's privilege got him recognition and he was fine with that, saying dismissively his costars would "get their chance."

Billy may get his chance too now that Harry moved the needle in a much bigger way.

How hun? Billy does nothing that Harry does. Harry does nothing that Billy does. They aren't working together on anything year after year. They aren't even in the same community. They aren't even the same race. They aren't even from the same country. That's like saying a white man is president. He broke the glass ceiling, so now a woman can be president. That hasn't even happened in centuries. :billie:

Like what are you basing this on.

What does that have to do with anything? :air:

What they have in common is being entertainers, cisgender males, and wearing dresses and/or androgynous clothing. I don't know what point you're trying to make. Harry has more privilege than Billy as a white/straight man. Billy has more privilege than MJ as cisgender man. If we're going by your logic, Billy can't even have opened the door for Harry to wear a dress since they never worked together and aren't in the same country? :air:

OMG. A powerful media conglomerate is highlighting a white straight man dressing in non-binary fashion before a black gay man who has been doing it for years.

I mean most people think that Elvis Presley invented rock and roll, but it was POC that did.

I don't how hard it is to comprehend that this type of important moment affects history and how people remember it.

I don't get why you are fighting so hard for the white straight guy and the powerful media conglomerate.

Love how non-binary fashion is the topic.....while race/sexuality is the issue!  Well done:madge:
