Which is true she was in Antigua for 3 weeks quarantining before going to film the video and you could see in her stories she was getting more tan.

I guess it's a valid point to bring up, why her bandmates were her friends for 10 years and never said anything. However, I don't think you should dismiss the blackfishing accusations completely. A lot of people are calling her out now because she stepped into the spotlight and has her debut single out. This discussion was bound to happen at some point. 

The other thing is I think that Nicki is really the worst person to consult with. Over the last few years she developed this attitude where she completely shields herself from any criticism whatsoever. Everyone that comments on her behavior is automatically a hater and jealous of her. You cannot have a legitimate conversation with her and you should not take any advice from her if you want to do better.

But it was confirmed Leigh DID message Jesy about it after the Sweet Melody MV and even if Leigh hypothetically didn't do that, I don't think it's her fault like as a POC it's often a pain and difficult trying to talk to my White friends about racial issues and sometimes I just don't want to even bother, I don't think it's fair at all to hold it against Leigh  

Not to mention Leigh's DMs are potentially fake and if in the end they were real, the influencer who shared the screenshots took out a context of him doing the Boyz choreo which Leigh responded to. That doesn't make the situation any less messy but still:

Yeah, you're right. The fact that Leigh tried to educate Jesy privately does poke holes into the "no one said anything" narrative. Not to mention, Leigh is receiving tons of abuse because of the Nicki livestream so I understand why she would have been afraid to mention anything publicly before. She has never had it easy.

Also not to mention go to 2:50 (this was before the Sweet Melody MV), she says "I knew it affected Leigh-Anne" regarding racist hate but never discussed it with Leigh because she knew Leigh would handle it better than her (obviously she's not being ill-intent). I mean it's pretty clear here if I was Leigh in this scenario I would feel awkward or not know how to bring up racial issues to begin with if that's what my friend (Jesy) thinks   It's not even that but Leigh probably was just trying to not be selfish and wanted to worry about Jesy's mental health more rather than switching off to her own issues.
