Literally not speaking to her as a person. I'm responding to the user who stated (correctly) that she seems to very much care about the numbers and ability to call something a #1. I'm simply curious about to what end this carries. Like only when it occurs and she can claim that, or because she truly desires to and wants it? Not making a judgement about it or her. I truly don't care one way or another because I know her talent, acclaim, and credibility bears it out and will stand the test of time. I'm only curious about her end game here and true intentions. And I'm okay with whatever that is because she's a free woman.mp3 and can do what she wants.

But logically it would follow if she cared so much about that her and her team would actually care to do more to help the album be more commercially successful then, yet all they do is have her post Instagram posts lol. Sure Gaga likes to claim those things when they occur, but doesn't seem to care anymore about putting in the effort to make it happen. Maybe she just expects it? Idk. Sadly this has backfired for her and her team and hopefully shows them all how you can't just release an album and essentially go silent from a promotional perspective if you want to make a splash. I think releasing a dozen different versions of the same album with slightly different covers, as well as the last minute offer of "digital signatures," is a pretty clear indicator that they really want the album to sell. But I agree with what your saying. 30 minutes ago, Medusa said: Please God tell me you know why it meant that for BORN THIS WAY. To be a hit? a standalone album, literally supporting LGBTQ+ when nobody else even close to her status was. You must get why that is a number one that will forever be a highlight for her, she was the biggesttttt pop star, she knows that album could have ruined her career, but did it anyway. Thats propably the only number 1 shes gunna really care about emotionally It's not just about Born This Way. Commercial success, including number ones, is important to her. It's something she talks about frequently. Born This Way and Cheek To Cheek are just two recent examples, but you could do it with basically every project she's done. Here she is talking about how Shallow going number one is a "dream come true." https://www.instagram.com/p/Bupc_D8F1FZ/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link The music may be priority number one, but awards and chart positions obviously mean a lot to her. It doesn't mean she is shallow or that she has any less artistic integrity.

Patriziaa Reggiani 7,647
Obviously Commercial success matters for Gaga and more importantly it's a metric for her label to support her forthcoming projects, y'all know how she only got a budget of 6m for the entire Joanne era promotion after the debacle of ARTPOP (28millon) so, we can assume only how much the label will invest themselves in the next era of gaga, if the previous one isn't a success. I will not watch House of Gucci
PrincessGUY 387
The album sales are what they are and nothing we do now can change it. I expected these numbers and I wonder how anyone else couldn’t. CTC was sort of a cultural reset, records sold better in 2014, and it was a new side of Gaga we hadn’t seen much of it at all so it had that anomaly factor to help it. The industry being where it is now on top of people already knowing the jazz side of Gaga along with L4S being released almost like it was an afterthought after people had spent their money buying 70 variants of Chromatica/DOC/BTW10 in a financial crisis, it’s really not that surprising. it sucks, yeah. It’s Tony’s last album and it would have been nice to give his career one last #1 as a send off but Gaga’s fans are broke and more interested in her pop music. "i don't give a **** about charts" and being oblivious, it would be extremely ungrateful, she cares for the music, not the charts, but if the charts welcome her, it is celebrated, because it just means that there are ppl appreciating her work so it deserves to be acknowledged, that's it, that's her philosophy. All artists want to sell their music, but the market and its charts shouldn't cause greed to position, let alone dictate the type of art you make, she clearly doesn't care for the charts in that sense otherwise she wouldn't be making a jazz album Mad Architect of Light

It was a commercial and critical hit. I'm sure she thought this one would be as well. But I think you are misunderstanding my point. The art is priority number one for her, I agree. But it's also clear, by her words and actions, that she places a lot of value in chart performance, winning awards, and having hits. That doesn't undermine her artistic legitimacy or make her shallow. There is nothing wrong with an artist being motivated in part by commercial success. If she were a male artist I don't think this conversation would even be happening. Spoiler: The dozens of times she has celebrated chart positions. You seem hellbent in excruciating detail on proving a point that, what, Gaga is sad / heartbroken and we should be too? Like have your opinions and honestly you’re more than entitled to them, but this is such a negative one that the effort you’re putting in is concerning. again, celebrating something does not mean that’s the most important thing, so those tweets really don’t validate your point; Tony is living in Tony’s moment, Gaga has / is gunna have lot of fun remembering all the fun stuff she’s don’t jazz wise recently. CannaeDrive 3,412
Let's clarify something here. The fact that I personally, and other individuals, do not particularly care about numbers and charts doesn't mean Gaga does too. As a professional artist, she obviously has to take somehow into consideration that side of the business. MOT 2,735
12 hours ago, SKANK said: Gaga called Born This Way going number one the greatest honor of her career. “It’s a tremendous honour," Gaga tells Billboard of the milestone. "To be the 1000th No. 1 on Billboard...I would be silly not to say this is the greatest honour of my career” “I am so humbled and so honoured and overwhelmed by the reception to 'Born This Way,'" Gaga adds. " has been so life changing for me as an artist, and between Billboard and the international number ones and the radio numbers...I couldn't be more blessed to have the fans that I have." Regardless of the context, ten years later she is still talking about the the chart position of Born This Way, because it holds value to her. And it’s not just that song. While promoting Love For Sale she has been talking about Cheek To Cheek going number one. She celebrated A Star Is Born going platinum on Instagram. She has always talked about chart success in a way that indicates that it’s important to her. At the end of the day the art is going to be the most important thing, but awards and chart positions matter to her. Which isn’t a bad thing. Yep. She is a competitive person. Whether it's music or sport or accountancy, being competitive means you try harder and it helps you to do better work. At the end of 5 foot 2 when Bobby tells her that Million Reasons has gone number 1 she jumps for joy.

I said, Love For Sale's chart position may be disappointing, but we should have hope for its continued success during the holiday season and at the Grammys. Neither of those opinions are negative and neither suggest she is heartbroken right now. I think you might have misunderstood my posts, but if you didn't misunderstand, we can just agree to disagree.
