yeah but ur the one who only presented one side of the girls in favour of ur tv show rather than presenting actual humans. I'm sure every queen on there has got shady moments but it's how the edit presents them which shapes how ppl react to them. Queens like The Vixen I'm sure had many hearfelt moments which were cut in favour of her shadier moments. I understand that's the nature of TV but for Ru to sit there and say she has no part in how the queens are presented is bonkers:triggered:

eras tour docuseries out dec 12th!

I doubt Rupule didn’t actually write the lyrics lol he don’t even remember most of the queens anyways

I absolutely love drag race but when I learned that they place challenges in certain weeks to play off of specific queens  strengths/weaknesses I realized they have an idea on who they want to win and they will help steer the ship that direction. It’s like this on almost all reality competition shows, so yes I will let the queens blame it on the edit! (To an extent)

It's true they said it, but sometimes they say something and it's spliced together with something from a totally different conversation, and then they place another queens reaction from a completely different time...they pick and choose what to show and what not to show to create a narrative. ALL the queens have good and bad moments, but if they want to create a villain they will only use that queens bad moments. If they want to create a storyline for a top 3 contestant, they will only use their good moments.

I remember watching a very dramatic scene unfold on Untucked a few seasons ago and my friend and I noticed the queens in each line of dialogue and reaction shot were moving around in the background and in different positions on the couch, wigs on or wigs off, and it really made us aware just how edited it really is. They completely fabricated an interaction between two queens, and also the reactions to it, from multiple conversations. Not to mention the music they use. Now if that's not shady, manipulative editing then idk what is.

I understand a lot of queens now saying 'oh it was the ediiiit" as a poor excuse for bad behaviour, and that's sh.itty, but a lot of the editing on the show is also really shi.tty. And that's what I hate about reality TV and why I'm getting over Drag Race. Ru doesn't care if they ruin a queens professional reputation and she gets driven to depression from online bullying because they got the villain edit, she just wants her coins. And the gays looove drama, so the producers crank it up to 10. It seems to get worse every season

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

As much as people can debate the existence of an edit, in my personal opinion, we don’t need to defend The Vixen’s portrayal after what she said about Manila’s late boyfriend and not apologizing, how she race baits, and basically downplayed Monet’s Blackness because it wasn’t up to her standards or whatever a few months ago. Whether her appearance on Drag Race was edited or not, she continues to act the way she was portrayed pretty consistently outside of the show.

In my honest opinion, Rupaul harms the lgbtq community more than he helps it

Decades before woke culture required everyone be an activist RuPaul was on the front lines challenging gender norms and marching for gay rights.

He's given a platform to more queer artists of color then anyone else ever has. He is responsible for creating an economic boom in a small queer industry. He was as much a pioneer twenty years ago as he is now; recently becoming the most award person of color in Emmy's history, and becoming the first drag queen to host SNL and cover Vanity Fair. All along the way he has used his platform for to benefit the queer community, through AIDS activism or highlighting the issue of voters rights.

Had RuPaul not forced America to accept a blank queer man in a dress the gay community as it is today would not exist.

I know it's on trend to hate RuPaul, and he certainly does deserve criticism, but the idea that he has done more harm then good for the LGBT community is honestly just ludicrous. :toofunny: He is a trailblazer, and an icon. You can take issue with certain things he does without throwing his entire legacy in the trash.

lasagna

given that outside the show, queens who work with "villains" like phi phi, jasmine, kennedy, darienne, roxxxy, morgan, etc. have never had anything bad to say about them, while a lot of queens have many bad stories about / outright refuse to work with fan favs like alyssa, shangela, sharon, etc... that makes me question the edit to say the least

Spoiler

also the fact that rupaul comes across as a nice person on drag race makes me doubt the reality of the edit :trollga:

Spoiler

also on s12 the show initially set up an admitted sexual predator sherry pie to be in the top 4 and potential winner before they edited her out... so...
