more majors performances sure, but it makes 0 sense to me that she’s tired n o w after less than a year of performing with no tour when she’s literally worked harder 2018-2019. 

Not being able to do anything can wear you out though. I work in events, and I haven't been able to work at all for 18 months while (luckily) still being on a payroll. It's not a vacation; it's constantly feeling pressure without being able to relieve it in the ways you want. I felt an enormous amount of stress because I wasn't able to "earn my keep".

Now that we're starting back up, my energy gets drained much quicker than before. My tolerance for everything is way down, to the point that I've started feeling burned out within a matter of weeks.

Not saying that my life is very comparable to Doja (and mental health shouldn't be compared much in the first place), but I can understand her perspective. As a whole, the pandemic has been transformative for a lot of people - for better or worse. Apparently she's among the people who got the bad end of it.

This must be a common experience for many in the industry, they just aren't giving voice to it. Rappers especially have a huge workload so I have no doubt that Doja has been under huge pressures from her label to put out a new album quickly and then immediately get working on the next one, prepare for touring, write featured verses for other artists as well as contribute to social media and attend meetings, among other things. Being an artist is hard work, some don't realise how demanding it is until they're in it. She became massively successful almost overnight due to the success of Say So and I think if it hadn't been for that, she wouldn't have been encouraged to put out a new album so fast. She put this album together in roughly a year since her big break and maybe she would've preferred to take things slower. And she's performing medleys at so many award shows and has a big social media presence and she's doing magazine shoots as well. By all accounts, she's been working flat-out since 2018 and still has a busy schedule ahead of her and that has to take its toll.

Usually artists like performing live and touring. So maybe she's just tired of the stuff she has to fill her time with right now.  She did alot this year. She had a make up collection debut, she hosted the MTV awards, she did her NFT.

During a pandemic you made millions, while millions lost their business or jobs, not sorry for u Doja, if you're tired u can slow it down, tweeting about it like it's dramatic is unnecessary. Madonna, MJ, Gaga they just continued on or they slowed down, and then explained to fans in a normal way. I don't know it's annoying this attitude of Im so important and lack of perspective. mmm i don't find it comparable at all, gaga literally didn't mind loads of pain that ended up with her hip broke and needing surgery because she performed almost every night in a very physically demanding tour, running up and down, back and forth a theater castle like stage, she literally didn't stop until her body couldn't move anymore...

Have you seen the quality and level of her performances the past year though?

They are next-level and of a quality we haven't seen in a few years from a pop star. Intense choreography, entire re-arrangements of her songs like Gaga used to do, extravagant staging and props, very theatrical.

Honestly the level and quality of her live performances remind me of Gaga's back in the day. She's doing so much more than just singing the same songs with a dance. That's probably why she's burning out.

Artists don't have to accept to live the same unhealthy life that other artists do. Is that really so difficult? It doesn't "come with the job", or at least, it shouldn't. Especially in the streaming era, TV promo, interviews and photoshoots are so much less important than it used to be. An artist that makes good, catchy music can be successful with one big performance per month. Not everybody is a Madonna or a Lady Gaga (pre-2013) and that's OK.
