FATCAT 60,492
She's not wrong, but she's also not entirely right. You can create original music that doesn't also sound like recently popular songs This kitten over here (meow)
Zombiecat 17,238
She's right but she literally used the whole vocal melody of a song and just changed the words and the overall pitch of the song so that's not the same as what she's saying

RAMROD 111,420
Originality is hard when you lived in 2021. Can people just chill? There are like decades behind us where people actually "did it first", what happen today are just the recycle of things really. 。°(°.◜ᯅ◝°)°。 ✧*:・゚ you supposed to cook for us, AZ (˃̣̣̥ᯅ˂̣̣̥) ♡♡♡

I'll say this, I knew it sounded familiar and I didn't even know the name of the songs haha But it was close enough that they added credits, so her or her lawyers were definitely a little worried about any public fallout This kitten over here (meow)

There's plenty of popular artists that put out original music in 2021, when more that isn't in the top 10. Even her team conceded the similarities and vocal melody, they wouldn't have added credits if it wasn't warranted. gothicdream 39,618
I'll be honest, it really irks me to frame this as a feminist issue - and I'm a pretty radical feminist. Like... Sure, she's a female songwriter, but so is Hayley and she deserves credit for the song Olivia ripped off from her. As well as Taylor. Framing it within feminism feels manipulative. But you know they asked for the credits when the tracks got popular. Otherwise no one would have bothered. RahrahWitch 6,985
There's line between inspiration and plagiarism. Inspiration is getting inspired by a song and creating something original with that in mind not using it as a blueprint. I doubt it's all on her though, there's teams of people involved with making a big album like that but when even your Album Aesthetic is seemingly plagiarized then I think it's It's time you get some new team members with a little originality.
