critics as always showcasing their ignorance about gaga as an artist.

First gaga doing jazz wasn't a surprise at all for the fans or really for anyone who has been following her career closely and not just the surface, of course we considered it, we know her capabilities and we know she was singing jazz before she was famous, besides she's been doing piano jazz casino versions of Poker face since 2008, Didn't CTC even exist for them? ... they were the ones that didn't consider it, not us, it's itching for me how they try to project their ignorance in the fans lol.
And then that last joke was not funny at all considering that tony retirement is because of health issues and not because he wanted to...

Lol I know. I remember every Cheek To Cheek review started like "whO wouLd iMaGiNe LaDy GaGa coULd aCtuaLLy siNg LivE?" Like bich we've been seeing her perform piano ballads since Poker Face.

the closing line reads as, "As for Bennett, well, retiring from live performance at 95? He’s never going to make it in this business with that attitude." the ****? the author's last name is gross—how fitting. :triggered:

What? Its clearly highly ironic :laughga:

what? there’s nothing “clear” or “self-evident” when it comes to reading or meaning-making, not even in the case of legal documents (what justices/judges can do is interpret the legal text, loosely, broadly, etc.). here, the contextual cues read highly ambivalent, which explains the mixed reaction in this thread. if anything, it’s ironic how some would like to point out that the reading of others is wrong/inaccurate. :enigma:

yes, and jokes like that also come across as insensitive, giving that it's his illness that made him retire and it's taking him away, not because he wanted to or simply because his age to get finally comfort and and peace, music is the very thing that brings him joy.

They gave Bad Bunny's last album a 4 score, I mean if you're looking for taste on that magazine you ain't gonna find it.

Haven't listened to the album, but I honestly don't listen to critics, if I like it, I like it, if I don't, I don't. I loved C2C so I don't see why I wouldn't like LFS.

Whether the album is good or bad I expect critics to give good reviews simply for the fact that it's Tony's last album.

Also yeah, it reminds me of a french show on TV here called "Un dîner presque parfait".  5 go eat at each other's home for 5 days and they have to rate the meal based on different criterias. People will be like "The food was perfect, it's one of the best meals I've had in my life blablabla" and then they'll rate it 2/10

I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THAT TV SHOW FOR AGES :deadbanana: I used to watch this type of shows all the time when I was young but the french channels don't come on our satellites anymore. Do you happen to know a show where it's kind of the same concept but a few couples sleep over at each other's houses and rate their stay?

My take on this review is that it is warmhearted and affectionate. The joke about Poker Face is harmless old hat, and the joke about Tony is just the writer's ironic way of acknowledging that Tony is incredible. It is coming from a good place.

I also watched those shows all the time as a kid in France  But I haven't watched TV since like 8 years so I don't keep up anymore  Shows like Un Diner Presque Parfait, D&CO, Super Nanny, Secret Story, Fort Boyard, Koh Lanta, C'est Du Propre, and that one where 2 moms traded family for a week etc... they were giving me life :flutter:
