That's... a joke. A bit tasteless considering how he HAD to retire, but a joke nevertheless.

It's a joke, they are praising him

yeah, i'm aware: it was irony. still, given the context and tony's situation, it read odd (to say the least).

Do you know what sarcasm is? He’s pretty much commenting on how Tony’s 95 and is only retiring NOW.

yes. :triggered: do you know the difference between sarcasm and irony? because it was intended as the latter.

Whether the album is good or bad I expect critics to give good reviews simply for the fact that it's Tony's last album.

Also yeah, it reminds me of a french show on TV here called "Un dîner presque parfait".  5 go eat at each other's home for 5 days and they have to rate the meal based on different criterias. People will be like "The food was perfect, it's one of the best meals I've had in my life blablabla" and then they'll rate it 2/10

Well I think CTC is 'only' 64 overall on metacritics, so I don't think you should get your hopes very hight for rave reviews.

The review said alot of really good things about LG.  It was't really negative anywhere, imo. It is, after all, a single person's opinion. And the line about retiring at 95 was a joke. I would guess that if someone said that to Tony inperson, he would laugh. (imo)

I think 3/5 is super fitting for a solid covers album. I don’t think it deserves higher scores unless it had original music.

critics as always showcasing their ignorance about gaga as an artist.

First gaga doing jazz wasn't a surprise at all for the fans or really for anyone who has been following her career closely and not just the surface, of course we considered it, we know her capabilities and we know she was singing jazz before she was famous, besides she's been doing piano jazz casino versions of Poker face since 2008, Didn't CTC even exist for them? ... they were the ones that didn't consider it, not us, it's itching for me how they try to project their ignorance in the fans lol.
And then that last joke was not funny at all considering that tony retirement is because of health issues and not because he wanted to...

the closing line reads as, "As for Bennett, well, retiring from live performance at 95? He’s never going to make it in this business with that attitude." the ****? the author's last name is gross—how fitting. :triggered:

Is that a sarcastic joke? I mean maybe the author wants to make joke like how committed he is in the industry, singing until age of 95. Like they edgily joked that with that attitude (the commitment) he won't make it in the industry. Weirdly put but yea, maybe they want to cater to gen Z jokes lol.

Edit : turns out already pointed out sorry lol
