Hair Is Underrated

I agree.

I can see why it's not as liked- it's very "kitchen sink" in its production, arrangement, lyrical content, vocal performance etc. (even more than the rest of the album, which is already at capacity in all those aspects). But honestly, that's why I love it so much.

There's just such a strong earnestness to it that is so endearing and powerful. It, like many others in the album, is a giant and epic and almost-overbearing song that really captures the intent of her emotions and activism and artistry at the time. I love it so so so much for that.

One of the best tracks on BTW and I love it's "cheesiness" because that's the point, Gaga channelling a teenager! I don't think it should've been a single (MTN and EOG are stronger) but it worked fine as a promo single.

I wish the album version sounded like the live band version. Like a mid album rock ballad. The production sounds a little too easy top 40 to me.

Hair is a song that might be cheesy for some people but if you sing it in another way it could be a very nice adult contemporary song. It's so versatile!!! Her daughter 1000 doves got the same treatment.

It's one of the songs on BTW that I've always listened to the most. I don't particularly care for the live, piano version but love the studio version
