Gaga Sang About Her S/A during The Fame?

In Honest Eyes she sings:

It's been a hard day, harder night.
The rockstar's, girlfriend, she lost the fight.
Well it's all right baby, I'm nobody's mother,
When you don't want the last cigerette to be over.

“I’m nobody’s mother” always struck me as an odd line, why would a 21/22 year old be talking about not being anyone’s mother?

After Gaga telling us about her *b*rtion, it made me realize she might actually be saying she’s “the mother of nobody”. The child was never born so it never had a name but she is still the “mother” of it.

Thoughts?

please enlighten me to death

I'm not sure if we should speculate about this matter but damn reading those lyrics in that context makes them so poignant

I mean "I'm not your mother" is a common expression that's usually used to say "do what you want I'm not here to tell you what to do/how to behave/clean up your mess". So I think that's probably what that line means, but who knows? Interesting theory

I doubt it, the second verse mentions "its been 2 days since he left home". As far as i'm aware she wasn't living with the person that assaulted her. Maybe just an ex and shes relieved she didn't have kids with them after finding out he lied to her

This^

It's interesting to look back at her older work with a new perspective (seriously, listen to Trigger again) but it's also very inappropriate to speculate about her experiences.
