Rock has been one of Gaga’s main influences, only second to pop music.

She grew up listening to Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Queen and Led Zeppelin, which she ended up having a cover band of.

David Bowie is as we now one of her biggest idols, and Elton John is one of her mentors.

Not only did she have a Zeppelin cover band, but her shows with Lady Starlight were set to Iron Maiden and other metal bands.

Her first attempts at solo music were firmly in the rock genre, though a bit poppier (Red And Blue, Stefani Germanotta Band, some early The Fame songs).

In fact her stage name is a reference to a Queen song (I know, what a shocker :triggered:).

Seeing all of this it’s no surprise her music has shown a  lot of influence from rock music. Her voice has the grit, her instrumentals are often aggressive and use electric guitar and other live instruments, and some of her songs are straight up rock songs.

It’s hard not to see the rock influences in songs such as Swine, MJH, MANiCURE, Diamond Heart, Perfect Illusion and a lot of the BTW album.

So… my thing is: Even though Gaga’s rock influences have been there from the very beginning and she’s leaned into them a bit more in some albums, it’s weird that she’s had a career spanning 13 years and we haven’t gotten a straight up rock album yet.

Finally my question:

Would you be here for a straight up rock album from Gaga?

I’m thinking of a glam rock album as the most natural fit for her, though a metal album or another option could be cool too.

Thoughts? :vegas:

If it was an album like Electric Chapel and Bad Kids then YES. Diamond Heart is also one of my favourites but it would feel a bit out of place

Yesyesyesyesyesyesyes!

Her love for classic rock is so underrated in the fanbase. The Gimme Shelter performance she did with the Stones *chef's kiss*.
