I disagree. What message?? Gaga's 911 is relentlessly BLEAK, an endless loop of misery. Because she was depressed at the time. She thought about suicide every day. "I lived in this house while people watched me for a couple years, to make sure that I was safe," she said. 

Gaga is the artist and Chromatica is her diary... She felt hopeless when she wrote 911. That's her message. Why sugarcoat the TRUTH? To coddle her audience?? That would be a cop out!

Her lyrics are profoundly sad, her vocals emotionless. She did NOT want to cry anymore, which is why she takes an antipsychotic, or 911.

The medication helps control her symptoms like panic attacks and neuropathic pain (she said she doesn't take opioids) so she can function, but it's not a cure. 

Where's the light at the end of the tunnel?? She didn't know at the time, but things did get better. She sounded more hopeful in her 2020 interviews. She's learned to live with her illness. 

I think Charli's remix is more sanitized,  emotional, and hopeful... as if her diary was written years AFTER the fact with the benefit of hindsight. 

Well, she didn't write 911, but she did reference Rain On Me, Alice, 1000 Doves, and Fun Tonight... She knows her assignment. 🙂

I can't get into the 911 remix for that reason. I feel like so much more could have been done with the original song but it was turned into something else entirely.

said it feels like a different song from 911 and you provided examples of it… referencing other Chromatica songs? How is that opposed to my opinion  I didn’t say it doesn’t fit the theme of Chromatica or that it wasn’t good.

That’s probably my only criticism- some of them changed the songs too much and put themselves a lil bit too much in the spotlight with their own singing.

This song took a sec for me to understand it's structure but it is cool that they made a completely new song

One of my fav parts is verse 2 cuz lyrically it sounds like something Charli would write (dolls, diamonds, oasis, paradise ... such Charli words).  

 

It sorta feels like they took the spotlight from Gaga and made it a Charli song, but actually... The only thing missing from the original 911 is the first verse (which is a shame cuz Iove that verse lol). The remix is more of a "Gaga & Charli" than a "Charli feature" for sure tho due to the 2 original verses Charli added
