For me, as a producer, artist and enthusiastic person, Hyperpop is everything that goes against the traditional mainstream pop, almost like a satire. It’s because hyperpop is a label that TikTok came up with last year, the genre is better described as experimental pop. Stupid love, rain on me, 911, replay, sine from above, are probably the best examples of experimental pop. The word hyperpop would more accurately describe artists like 100 gecs, and some SOPHIE and Charli XCX songs but not all of them. TheSlash 14,539 Posted September 7, 2021 Share Posted September 7, 2021 Well technically "Hyperpop" is just an umbrella term for all kinds of music not fitting in any other music genre . So Metal, Rock and even classical music can be on hyperpop songs. For example, Dorian Electra often incorporates Baroque music into their songs. But also , most of hyperpop songs are very experimental and rarely have the traditional song structure. So in my opinion, 911, Replay and SFA are definitely hyperpop, but Sour Candy is also mildly dipping into it. Ew, David! Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
