This is easy. The remix. It's serving new and fresh, but also touches back on the demo version that was too good to just trash like they did. I was so obsessed with it, now I have the remix on repeat.

Well, there’s also the demo version which is very great. The album version is just… idk… meh? The Rina version is the superior one and everyone should admit that…

and then the demo version > the one who should've never been kept in the vault, who already sounds heavenly even not being polished enough, one of the GAGAest songs ever, it's got soul, 90s eurohouse Black Box Cece Penniston Robin S freaking out passed out keyhole mdma vibes, and it's legendary

PERIOD PERIOD PERIOD PERIOD. This encapuslates EXACTLY why I'm obsessed with the demo. I'm happy that the remix touched back on it, but they should've just put Rina on the demo.

Or just included the demo as an extra, like they did with Babylon HL.

bloody g

honestly more is more. it's shocking to see gaga stans from all people prefering simplicity over theatricality

edit: @ people saying album version is better

Rinas Version let me realize how amazing Free Woman is.  Melodicly and lyrically it doesn't need to hide behind Poke Face or Bad Romance. I was just not the biggest fan of the production, it sounds very "light", radio and GP friendly, and missing a character productonwise... Rina really pushed this Remix to reach the full potential this song has.

I really want to see what everyone sees in the remix version, but I don't. It is loud and chaotic which makes it hard to dance to. It also follows the same structure of the OG song - the 2nd chorus has no beat and it's a mood killer.

I also don't like that Rina replaced Gaga's second verse - which has the best line - with her own which lyrically is kinda basic. She's done a good job with the prechorus, bridge and outro, but the opening oh oh ohs sound messy to me.

Overall it just doesn't have the fresh retro vibe of the demo which makes this song good. So it's kinda bland.

So, album version remains better to me even though the production there is sad. So free woman remains a victim of the Uninspired Tribe that plagues some of Chromatica.

I like both equally. I never understood why the original album version was bashed because it’s one of best songs on the album. The demo was great, too. Let’s not forget this is a special song for Gaga because I think she’s said she was about to name to album Free Woman.

side note - is Rina the one that says “I’m Free” towards the end of the remix? I feel like if that’s her, her voice sounds a bit like Gaga’s.
