Yeah definitely. The SL visuals, the poster, even the ROM poster when it came were very reminiscent of 90's videogames, that's exactly the aesthetic that they were going for. 

I don't think this person's artwork are quite original and unique in itself. Lot of people love to discredit the bigger star's work in an instant, but this seems like a reach. 

Also the stuff that he has pointed out, seems like cropped, zoomed out images to make it seem that it bears resemblance to the Chromatica visuals.

This is a reach. Most of these images are being misleading by comparing textures (like, Gaga has been wearing latex since the beginning), color schemes (pink and green... groundbreaking combo), and general art styles. None of this is unique to him or Gaga. It's easy to look at this at first glance and think they're similar, but they really aren't when you look at everything individually.

Yes. They're similar. Only 5% lol. That too because the oval shape and the web thing neither of which can be claimed original. I swear I've seen hundreds of such oval shaped and web-like designs

this is tricky. i do believe inspiration has been taken here, thought so ever since they rolled out chromatica’s visuals

whereas nowadays these aesthetics are obviously more common you kind of need to understand dom sebastian was a leading force in popularizing them as early as 2017. he actually has quite the history of being stolen from by popular artists, including katy perry literally taking his images for official artwork

it’s no question people in gaga’s team know his stuff, they’d be terrible trend scouts if they didn’t

i do think the accusation of actual plagiarism can be taken a bit more lightly given the time that has passed and the way this fluid synthetic warped  90s 2000s aesthetic has gotten broader popularity over time. also not all of  chromatica’s visuals reference this style, there are still many elements that don’t derive from his work

 

so yes it’s part of his legacy, but not necessarily theft i would say. would have been the right thing to invite him to collab and thus make him benefit also

Oh, please. It's an aesthetic that's been around for a long time. I've seen this aesthetic in TV shows, movies and video games. People have got to stop obsessing over being the first, chances are way more likely that some one has already done it in some shape or form, and that's okay! Still do it, create it. Just focus on perfecting what you do instead of spreading drama like this.

It seems very cherry picked like the  middle row aren't similar in the slightest other than it being pink.

The symbols yeah I guess but those kinds of symbols again aren't an original concept.

The bottom 3 pictures are kind of a reach in my opinion. That alien goo thing could be from any sci-fi aesthetic like stranger things or alien, zoom in enough they all look the same.

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this kind of aesthetic, so maybe he was on a mood board but he didn’t invent this look
