That means reimagining it makes more sense—everyone is familiar, it’s a landmark album with seniority, and the intention of the album was not just to be just remixed sonically but rather realigned with the community it was made for, acting as a vessel for them to express their experiences with what it means to them. Chromatica doesn’t have the seniority to be reimagined, as it’s still so new. To be branded as a reimagining this soon in its life without having the same cultural impact could seem that it needed the reconstructing out of necessity rather than desire and demand for a remix album. Remix fits better here too because the intention of this album was strictly to redesign the sonics for entertainment purposes, rather than as a sentiment for a specific marginalized community that was being handed the microphone to tell their own story through the album. Idk maybe I’m reading too much into it but I had the time to write what I thought so I don't think you're reading into it to much, I made the thread to have a discussion and you've served us a steaming hot take. Well thought out tbh, I can accept that. "634 blowjobs in 5 days. I'm really quite tired."

It’s just Arca’s individual style that makes it *seem* like a typical remix but its structure is actually fairly straightforward. People are paying ROM dust, if you ask me. The intention behind it is so so beautiful. Arca made a remix that was meant to capture the euphoria people were feeling listening to the song in the pandemic, just enjoying and loving and feeling free. It’s actually the most heartfelt mix imo. It’s so touching to hear they care that much for the song. Like they said, it’s for the dolls lmao. I don't want my list to come of as "these are the songs I like" and "these aren't." I actually think that both ROM and 1000 Doves, while not in my top five, are very pretty and euphoric. While I'm still trying to warm up to Ms. Fun Tonight, even though I think it sounds "reimagined" vs "remixed. And I've been checking out each artist one by one, when I get to Arca, maybe I'll stop thinking of it as a traditional remix "634 blowjobs in 5 days. I'm really quite tired."
