SOUR is like a reborn baby of AL's Let Go and AM's Jagged Little Pill, but still has it's own magic. Hope Ur Ok is still its own energy, and she yells sociopath, sets a room on fire and jealousy jealousy? cmon, give her credit where its due. Things may be similar to past works, but there's so much in the album that is special and new and just Olivia.

You're confused, what you're describing is sampling, please check the terms before.
it's not a complete new melody, did you watched the video? it's definetely derivative, it has enough coincidental points, and honestly it's not even a necessary to see the music theory analysis to notice that, really listen to both songs again, separately, and then there's a matchup in youtube, the melodies are very similar and olivia's team know that, it's totally an interpolation.
