I really rather liked the Kanye album and disappointed with the Halsey one. Are we not allowed to have different tastes now? Granted he’s problematic af but I would be lying if I didn’t find it incredible. 
 

It’s okay not to like his work seriously if it’s not your taste. To say it’s bad though without hearing it is another thing all together. Some can’t even appreciate something that doesn’t do the whole pop accoutrements as if Kanye didn’t do a visual album back in 2010.

i liked the halsey album but I'm only 6 tracks into Donda and it's already loads better.

i still don't like how hard he's pushing his Christianity schtick, and the self-censorship is clunky, but gotta say, i love the features and the production is up to par so far with the rest of his discography. I'm enjoying it more than TLOP song-for-song so far

I sadly wasn’t a fan of the IICHL,IWP album but with that being said; I still respect Halsey COMPLETELY. So, I certainly 100% think she should get the #1. Especially before Kanye, any day.

The whole Christian thing can be out of place at time but I enjoyed Jesus Lord. Same I find it above TLOP but not MBDTF, Yeezus and KSG level for me.

He has some questionable collabs on that album, but no one cares 'cause he's a man. He's an enabler of assault and homophobia.

oh yea no way, it's nowhere near as good as anything pre-Yeezus

but post-Yeezus, i think this might actually be amongst his best production-wise? i can't tell cuz i feel like he's leaning on the features here so heavily that it feels more like a giant collab album than a specifically Kanye album (which i think might actually be working in his favor lol)

Halsey is in no way or form able to win this battle. Kanye is THE BLUE PRINT and he will be regarded as such. His masterpiece of work deserves the #1 debut.
