boyerased 2,886
I really rather liked the Kanye album and disappointed with the Halsey one. Are we not allowed to have different tastes now? Granted he’s problematic af but I would be lying if I didn’t find it incredible. It’s okay not to like his work seriously if it’s not your taste. To say it’s bad though without hearing it is another thing all together. Some can’t even appreciate something that doesn’t do the whole pop accoutrements as if Kanye didn’t do a visual album back in 2010.

Halsey did a song with Quavo and she defended it lmao “Just because I choose to be a socially conscious artist, and I’m pretty good at it, that doesn’t mean every artist is going to be equipped to be politically correct.” www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/halsey-on-collaborator-quavo-i-dont-think-hes-inherently-homophobic-196750/

I’d even say in all of modern music history. The consistency in critical appreciation (more so that they’re successive) of his works is almost unmatched by most modern artists dead or alive. Why did you put Gaga forward first then? Just admit that you know that you aren't right and are now grasping for straws So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted. Bling 31,537
I'm not a woman, I'm a god EDIT: Halsey DESERVES #1 but the GP have proven their lack of taste so in the end, numbers don't matter really

However, this STILL does not absolve Kanye It also is not at the same magnitude of what Kanye did/is doing at all, so... So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted. socotra 3,356
i liked the halsey album but I'm only 6 tracks into Donda and it's already loads better. i still don't like how hard he's pushing his Christianity schtick, and the self-censorship is clunky, but gotta say, i love the features and the production is up to par so far with the rest of his discography. I'm enjoying it more than TLOP song-for-song so far

So, I certainly 100% think she should get the #1. Especially before Kanye, any day.

flyaway 15,350
He has some questionable collabs on that album, but no one cares 'cause he's a man. He's an enabler of assault and homophobia. If it was Gaga, everyone would be cancelling her already.

Kanye is THE BLUE PRINT and he will be regarded as such. His masterpiece of work deserves the #1 debut.
