The album features an intensely intimate atmosphere characterized by micro-beats, music boxes, and beautiful orchestral arrangement. Vespertine features some of Björk's most popular songs like Pagan Poetry and Hidden Place. Vespertine garnered huge critical acclaim and is often considered Björk's best album. It has a score of 88/100 on Metacritic, and has appeared on many publications' lists of best albums of the 2000s, of its year, and of all time. Ziggy 11,328 Posted August 27, 2021 Share Posted August 27, 2021 God this album is so good. Just absolutely incredible. I know for most it’s a winter album, but it’s a summer album for me. You can tell that it was released in August, if that makes sense. It’s a winter fantasy dreamt from summertime. It’s cliché at this point, but I legit can’t talk Pagan Poetry up enough. But Heirloom, Sun in My Mouth, and An Echo A Stain, and the whole album, is just amazing. A no skip, for sure.
