I see nothing wrong. McCain himself didnt mind, he thought the existence of the monument was funny because it didnt have a real reason to exist. It doesn't celebrate his release, but it also doesn't necessarily celebrate his capture. Seems kinda weird that this is what people want to focus on, it's really not that deep.
