Wdym?

so far a lot of his lyrics and videos have been responses to criticism or the medias portrayal of him. the video shown is a continuation of his last video which was a response to the people angry about the blood shoes and imagery in his call me by your name video. a few weeks ago a lot of his demos for the album leaked and the lyrics are all about him being gay and his struggles before fame, which is something his earlier music already had a lot of. not that anythings wrong with it, i just wonder at what point will we get something different from him. i mean it makes sense that singers write about themselves, but im just kinda bored of it now.

how long is he gonna keep up this theme of self-reference in all his music and visuals? i find that kinda corny considering he hasn't even been around that long, although i do like him and his music. lizzo's rumors had that same vibe of cringe self awareness too.

I mean… Gaga’s whole career was build on being self-referencial.

I see what you mean, but honestly Gaga did a lot of that at the beginning too (2010 Grammy performance, Telephone vid being a continuation of Paparazzi etc.) and it's a really solid way of building a brand and a platform.

We have forgotten our public MANNERS

When people stop making a big deal out of what he does, that’s kind of the point. To normalize it.

I mean, sure. But does it bother you when your fave does it?

He’s making controversy, simply by being himself, so him being himself and doing it on purpose, against all the heat he gets, is admirable!

And it helps others, a lot. Both because they can see themselves in him, and because it normalizes things for everyone after him.

The song in this trailer is a BOP!:firega: Glad he will release it in September. Grammys 2022 is getting interesting now.

That is brilliant! He brings in The Weeknd and Gaga levels of greatness and is unapologetically black and gay which is brave and significant!!!
