Trump booed after telling crowd at rally to get vaxed

The GOP leadership has realized that while early on in the pandemic, it was FDR-era seniors/severely immunocompromised folks who were dying(both groups tend to vote more Democratic), now with the vaccine available, it’s the Republican Party’s base voters who are unvaxxed who are dying.  It’s just political expediency on their part; they don’t want to lose voters and weaken their election prospects.

I think you would be hard pressed to find someone worse than Trump tbh. He's the worst candidate they have had in decades. I'd be really shocked if someone even worse than him got to that level of power... and if that does happen... well America is just screwed

I was gonna say have you been down there but I'm pretty sure I remember you're from FL. I just feel like if they don't believe in it at this point they're a lost cause in getting the vaccine. If they won't listen to science and they won't listen to the original sources of the conspiracies they believe, will there be something that will convince them? I've met people who believe it's a hoax AFTER going to their friends' funerals. I just don't understand what doesn't click. Cognitive Dissonance for the win in their case.

You remember 5 years ago when Trump threw his hat in the ring and we all laughed because his ideas were laughable? I could only imagine what ideas they take from his playbook and further radicalize in order to get a platform and the nomination.

Great to see him getting booed, but look, it's also good news that he said what he said and that other senior republicans are coming out as pro-vaccine. Some people won't listen (the booers), but I'm sure some other people will, and that's good.

Panicking & backtracking because they realize their earlier COVIDIOT campaign backfired on them, now that many Republican voters, especially the older ones who are easier to fool & manipulate, are died from COVID-19. And more are still counting, unfortunately, for a lot of them are still refusing mask, vaccination& denies that Covid-19 exist. 

It is too late to turn them around now, they are beyond help now, I fear. And it is all Trumps and the rest of that party rhetorics fault. So they gotta live with that in remaining of their life now.

He does this often I believe - test out potentially controversial statements and ideas at rally’s and then pursues which ones are better received. I wouldn’t be surprised if he never says this again.
