spector 1,918 Posted August 19, 2021 Share Posted August 19, 2021 after my initial listen, the songs that stand out (not including the released ones): the path, california, secrets from a girl (who’s seen it all), helen of troy, and hold no grudge. mood ring is definitely the best song, both lyrically and melodically. 💍 (dominoes and big star were kinda annoying, ngl. 🤡) i’m gonna stream it more later in the bathtub, i’m sure something will change and/or click even further. it seems to be a good (not great?) album with a stronger first half. stella + elliot = stelliot Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I feel like she overthought this one and wanted to try and make something that would be critically acclaimed instead of something that really delivers on her appeal as an artist. It's also my least favorite album lyrically. I just didn't have a single standout lyric except one or two from the songs we've already heard. It just broke my heart how boring she is right now.
