And tbh I don't want to victim shame him in any way, it's horrible what he's been through, but I think he should be going to therapy instead of this trip, which might just make him more isolated&depressed. So I wouldn't give my money to him either if I thought he is going to spend it on something that isn't healthy at all for him. But who am I to judge or speculate? People go through much worse but still get back to work. If you want money you have to work. If you don't want to work then you shouldn't ask the people who do for free stuff that you haven't earned.
