:poot: not surprised given that we should expect to treat covid like a seasonal flu for at least the foreseeable future in terms of needing a shot every year (not the severity of the illness, pls dont come for me). im really hoping the booster has way fewer side effects than the original vaccine, bc if I had to get that every year............yikes.

also curious how this will play out given the different types of vaccines out there. like i got j&j, like does that just mean i'm stuck on that track indefinitely? i don't think i should or need to get an mrna vax now but I'm starting to think I made the wrong decision

Goodbye Miss Delta. Welcome to your flop era.

Except that it's the idiots that haven't even got their first shot(s) that's driving the pandemic now :neyde:

OT: So I get a booster in January

I forgot when I initially got my vaccine lmao I gotta check my vaccination card

Hopefully this could suppress the delta variant

But it’s kinda hard to push the 3rd shot isn’t it? Consider that most people will be overconfident and too comfortable with their initial dosage, what’s even worst is that most people don’t even have their first shot yet what makes them think it’s possible for them to take a 3rd shot :laughga:

They should at least support and fund vaccination in other countries since the pandemic won't end if various mutations continue. US's large purchase of vaccines affect the supply and delivery to high risk countries, which means it is also dangerous for US since it can reach them again like any variant. As studies show, herd immunity is the best protection over booster shots.

I would like one right now. Vaccinated people are catching the Delta variant and some, like my mom, are getting really sick. Especially were I live, these idiot conservatives don't even get vaccinated and then they spread it to the people who actually don't deserve to get sick.

This is good news. I was bummed to find out that the Pfizer vaccine is only..40% effective at stopping breakthrough infections?

I'm hoping that the vaccine for children under 12 years old is approved and generally safe for use. It's so sad what's happening in the southern U.S. with kids contracting COVID in school and dying.

I wish they would finish a vaccine for children under 12. I think adults with the vaccine are well protected enough as it is. ( That statement does not apply to anyone immunocompromised.) What good is having a third shot if you have to watch the children in your life possibly suffer through a hospital stay or worse?

Get the fvcking child vaccine done already.

Mindblown

The second shot hit me like a literal truck. I really hope a booster isn't as bad as that was, I have trauma from that  :bradley:
