But that’s your opinion, if we go objectively, Jack produced these girls’ most critically acclaimed and significant albums.

critical acclaim are also opinions just as meaningless :enigma:

I LOVEEE Folklore... Cardigan is the biggest bop and it's still a ballad (also one of my top 3 Taylor songs).

I agree that it's gotten old, but IMO NFR, Melodrama, and Folklore + 1989 are each of those artists best albums.

Jack Antonoff has NOTHING to do with Cardigan. 🙂

Cardigan was written by Taylor and Aaron DESSNER (The National, Big Red Machine), and produced by Aaron!

folklore - Taylor and Aaron co-wrote 9 songs out of 16 (Cardigan, The 1, The Last Great American Dynasty, Seven, Invisible String, Mad Woman, Epiphany, Peace, and Hoax). He's the sole producer on 9 and co-producer on Exile and Betty with Joe Alwyn.

Jack co-wrote 4 songs on folklore and co-produced 6 (with Taylor, Aaron and Joe) out of 16.

folklore is TAYLOR'S album, but if you prefer to give all the credit to a male producer, it's Aaron. (I'm tempted to quote Cardi B... but I won't.) 🙂

I don’t know what everyone is getting in a fuss about. He’s been taking a lot of work in the last decade, consistently, as anyone should because it’s their income and that obviously matters to everybody. Every artist he works with tends to have a cohesive vision and I totally support Lorde’s comments. Maybe Jack should take a few years hiatus since the public is starting to notice he’s working on “too many projects”, sure but only if it’s convenient for him right now in his life.

I don't think people would be saying these to someone like Mark Ronson who also produces for different female artists, because you really don't hear a signature MR sound for most of the works he's involved in.

There are noticeable similarities with the way the songs are structured with Jack.

PERIOD! I've been saying this since before people stopped stanning him and it's one of the main reasons I don't like him working with everyone. Everyone attributes Melodrama's success to him and it's so insulting to Lorde.

I wouldn’t ever give him credit for melodrama, but a lot of what I’m hearing production wise this time sounds like other recent work of his. I think it’s simply a fact of him not being quite as versatile as people say/working on too many big pop records

"Giant hits". This doesn't sound like Lorde. Melodrama is one of my favorite albums of all time but lets be real, none of the songs were hits. I don't think that has anything to do with Jack by the way.

You're right it is my opinion. Did I say it wasn't?

I feel like the hint of discredit to his name is  very appropriate considering how often he recycles his creations. It’s so basic

fragment-fragment--bul-uh...scab-uh..fragment-foot, bullet fragment foot bich!
