The audience won't engage with that, because why would they? I think a good route to take in the Cruella sequel is to find a balance between her most "charming" side and her obsession with dalmatians and being an all-around horrible person. I don't think there's anything wrong in "admiring" a horrible character, as long as you acknowledge how horrible they are. But you have to be able to admire them first, otherwise they're just not interesting as a character. This was an official message from the Office of the First Lady. Well I admired her in the first movie but now I'm ready to hate her Maybe they can rationalize why she felt justified in skinning the puppies. Like maybe there's some blackmail conflict or deal she made with someone where she needs to make a dalmatian coat but can't secure any pups for some reason.
