Britney Spears conservatorship judge receiving death threats

Police are monitoring death threats being made to Judge Brenda Penny, who’s overseeing Britney Spears’ conservatorship case.

“LASD continues to monitor the social media chatter regarding the ongoing Britney Spears civil court case,” a media spokesperson for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said. “Although some of the language on social media is concerning, at this time, it has not risen to the level of a creditable criminal threat.”

Judge Penny is not the only person involved in Spears’ case to receive death threats. Spears’ temporary conservator, Jodi Montgomery, has also received death threats, despite the singer wanting her to stay on her case.

That’s horrible. I understand the frustration fans are having, but this is disgusting. With that being said, I’m sure the judge may have probably “expected” something like this could have happened to her being she’s working in such a high profile case. Hoping all the parties are kept safe.

unsurprising. i think judges are used to, even expect, it. after all, they are the ones who are well aware of the just society fallacy and “reassured” on a daily basis that people and the world are not good “by nature.” quite the opposite.
