Don't have a meltdown if House of Gucci doesn't perfrom extremely well

Even though Ridley has a mixed reputation of directing, I think Gaga can bring the best of people, and the other way around, just like her and Bradley, the script is a adopted real life story so it's at least decent, the end result could be at least good, even something classic, just like ASIB.

Movies like this aren't meant to be blockbusters. They are character driven movie. They aren't action, comedy or romance. Especially when they are based on a true story. 

If it does better than Bombshell, it will be successful. That is the only other character driven based on a true story movie that has one or more of it's main characters be a strong female lead. 

It will probably be released on Amazon and movie theatres. Things are going to get alot worse before they get better with the pandemic. I really see a shut down happening by the end of the year IMO.

Beyond that, it's exciting to finally see Gaga in a role that isn't just "Lady Gaga but kinda different".

I actually liked Prometheus, one of the most underrated sci fi in recent years to me. Covenant one the other hand…  But even covenant is still critically pretty well received tho, so fingers crossed for this one

I don't think they are being pessimistic about the movie. It's more about the worsening pandemic and its effect on movies in general.

Well I'm trying to prepare if it does badly or just okay because I know I'll be disappointed 

But if it doesn't do really well it will just be worse if the fanbase gets dramatic about it, and Gaga will feel worse so I hope there's not meltdowns (but when has that happened )

I liked both  but I'd like them even if they sucked. I own AVP and AVPR on DVD ffs

Selfish wish, I want him to call Gaga for Alien 5 or Paradise or whatever it ends up being titled.

Edit: to add to that, I liked the direction he was taking with Prometheus. As much as I liked Covenant, it is a shame that he caved to the "I want an Alien slasher film!" crowd. The mythology he was building there with the Christian allusions were interesting.

Yeah covenant clearly had potential. Honestly the thing I liked the most about covenant was the fassbender on fassbender action, so dynamic and.. homoerotic  one of the best scenes from the franchise, easily

I’ll be honest, I have Paramount+ and HBOmax. With HBO, as soon as a Warner movie is released in theaters, it’s available on HBOmax (Suicide Squad 2, Wonder Woman 2, Conjuring 3, Tom & Jerry great movie btw, Mortal Kombat) And that’s how I’m watching those movies. 

With Paramount movies, 45 days after it’s released in theaters, it’s on Paramount+. iirc, Haus of Gucci will be on Paramount+ 45 days after it’s released in theaters (despite it being an MGM movie, MGM was recently bought by Amazon so I’d expect it to be on Amazon Prime ) either way, I’m NOT going to see it in theaters because I don’t want to be the reason my family dies. 

movies will flop financially for another year or two. But it’s the reviews and acclaim that will keep the industry afloat. And I 100% believe that Haus of Gucci WILL be as acclaimed as ASIB if not more. There’s tons of Hollywood alumni in this movie, the worst that can happen will be that Gaga’s performance was subpar compared the others. But judging by the trailer, she seems to be the best. She’s Italian after all 

tldr; we’re good. I guarantee a best actress Oscar nom but I really think she’ll win this time. tbh I wanted Yalitza Aparicio to win over Gaga in 2019
