Quentin Tarantino’s mother says she is proud of him
'Regarding my son Quentin - I support him, I'm proud of him and love him and his growing new family.' said Connie Tarantino, 75.
'It gave me great joy to dance at his wedding and receive his news upon the birth of my grandson, Leo.'

She says the furor over her son's comments have been blown out of proportion.
'Quentin and I both know that a sound bite on a podcast can spin and go viral without full context and can regurgitate inaccurately bolstered by slices of old interviews and assumptive past written material,'

Lol...i was reading this thread and thinking that something was exaggerated, inaccurate or without context.

Well don’t have kids queen because you’re pretty ill-suited for emotional tenderness it requires to raise someone who will be happy, confident and stable.

one time I told my brother he looks greasy and literally 6 years later he told me he has never forgot and he was so mad at me for a while

Tarantino's father left before his birth. His mother was a single mother by the way. This is what I found:

Zastoupil encouraged Tarantino's love of movies, and accompanied him to numerous film screenings. Tarantino's mother allowed him to see movies with adult content, such as Carnal Knowledge (1971) and Deliverance (1972). After his mother divorced Zastoupil in 1973, and received a misdiagnosis of Hodgkin's lymphoma,[17] Tarantino was sent to live with his grandparents in Tennessee.[18] He remained there less than a year before returning to California.[19]

The summer after his 15th birthday, Tarantino was grounded by his mother for shoplifting Elmore Leonard's novel The Switch from Kmart. He was allowed to leave only to attend the Torrance Community Theater, where he participated in such plays as Two Plus Two Makes Sex and Romeo and Juliet.[17] At age 15, Tarantino dropped out of Narbonne High School in Harbor City, Los Angeles.[20][21] He then worked as an usher at an adult movie theater in Torrance, called the Pussycat Theater. Later, Tarantino attended acting classes at the James Best Theatre Company, where he met several of his eventual collaborators.[22][23] While at James Best, Tarantino also met Craig Hamann, with whom he would collaborate to produce his first film in 1987.

You mean to tell me your mother let you watch movies, let you write, let you attend classes in Theater... and she's a bad mother?

So this to me is heading towards those comments parents make and it happens, where they're like, just pick a stable career. On top of that she was a single mother, maybe she was so scared he would be broke? And that she doesnt have the means to take care of him as an adult?

At 60 years old you choose to be petty for a comment, instead of taking a step back and realizing how hard it's been for her to raise him alone, and that she allowed you to write, to read the books you want, to watch the most explicit movies at a young age bcs u have a passion, it's your mother. And you have the audacity to tell the whole world and humiliate her and say she doesnt deserve a penny from me. How cruel, how cold. Pathetic man

@KanyeWest He does’t let her suffer and go without, she has everything she needs. He helped her out of a pickle she was in with the IRS so it really isn’t cut and dry like that. He just doesn’t think she should enjoy the luxuries that came from the career she was unsupportive of, I mean specifically discouraging him from his passion. What child could benefit from that kind of treatment?

I find it so cruel and cold I could never do this to my mother even if she told me for example, that my business will not flourish I would forgive her if I became a millionaire from it. I would never do something to my mom, disgusting behavior in so many ways. Unless your parent has been abusive and cold and cruel to you, then I don't understand at all. We are all humans we all make mistakes, we are lead by fear, especially when u start with no money you are broke you're scared for the future of course you'll have your angry moments, your moment where ull think no no you need a stable career, you need to stop art and study math. This is the classic line many parents do, doesnt mean they hate you, doesn't mean they dont think u r talented, it's the circumstance of life of society, that everything is driven by money and when u have barely any you are scared for your children, you want them to be able to pay their taxes have a hosue and car and do ok. We all know arts is not seen as a stable career. How can you at 60 years old not think about this in your head, how can you not pick up the phone and talk about it to your mom, maybe you two would have a crying session, maybe she would explain herself, and ask for forgiveness, thats what an adult does, an adult doesnt go on a podcast and humiliate his own mother. Disgusting

my god, why don't he just share his fortune with her... it's ridiculous to be this bitter with your single mother just for being doubtful and concerned when you were growing up, he's literally acting like a teenager.

it was just a mistake, it wasn't even her direct fault, it was how she was raised and all the societal norms and standards of her environment that caused her all the doubts and concerns. Is silly wanting to punish her for life just for that, forgiveness is a wise thing to do.

At the end of the day, it’s his money and success, he can do whatever he wants with it. People calling it “cruel” that he’s not buying her houses or vacations sound silly, like... what? LMAO!! He just has boundaries, he’s not cruel.

Tarantino has always been an unhinged asshole so it’s not a shocker to read about this. But with that said, it’s his money and no one else is entitled to it except his children. People who worry about someone else’s fortune should worry about making their own, rich bitch **** always has a broke hoe bitter:billie:

I'm not entirely sure why so many are jumping in his defense (regardless of the problems he and his mother may have). He's not exactly known to be tolerant to minorities (racial and sexual)
