In any case saying "I've recently stopped using the f slur" is not the same as what dababy said anyway. I mean, is it reprehensible? Yeah, but it still is not the same. And that's not because he's a white male, it is because what he said is not DIRECT ATTACK against the LGBTQ+ community. 

You may say that you don't want any kind of hate but the way of defending THAT thought is not "well you haven't said anything about XXX so why DaBaby?". That just makes you look like you're looking for a way to defend him.

Probably because no one here cares about Matt Damon and the "scandal" isn't nearly as interesting considering DaBaby worked with Dua. This whole thing started with the Levitating remix, that's likely why so many pop stans latched onto him despite his ignorance being far from unique to him.

I don't think this is a "death of the blonde popstar but with a rapper" moment. The guy disparaged gays, women, and people with HIV/AIDS, doubled down on it, fake apologized for it, and deleted his apology when it didn't get his gigs given back to him. I'd say he dug his own hole and now he has to sit in it tbh.

@Pennywise I saw your post, I forget which thread (it might even be this one ) but I agree. We're well passed the point where "any press is good press". These days, flying under the radar is much more beneficial 'cause the second you poke your head out and do something foolish, you've got a target on you and it's impossible to shake it off

he said that actors should keep their sexuality private but he talked about his family in interviews and walked on red carpets with his wife and he had never apologized for it.

This just proves he really is a homophobe. I wish I could say I was surprised, but I’m not. There really is a big problem with homophobia and misogyny in the rap community and this just confirms it. But people will still be excusing it I guess and bring up the gay ‘lifestyle’ which is something to be ‘agreed’ on. The comment sections really are disappointing, I really recommend skipping those on this topic at certain media outlets.

It’s just sad how this still happens. Let alone still tolerated. The things he said were vile and if he deletes this post that basically confirms he has and probably still says much worse in private.
