It looks like torture, start to finish

The plot is... Cinderella wants to be a businesswoman! In musical form! It will inevitably be a mess, and its flopping will be blamed on, shall we say, anything but the quality of the film itself

I honestly don’t even get how James Corden made it overseas in America like he went from Gavin & Stacey to hosting his own late night talk show?! Do Americans genuinely find him funny because his humour is average for a Brit, I just don’t get the appeal. :oprah:

Plus there is another problem with this person, he is known from playing gay man, he created a gay caricature and he got golden globe. This is ****ing mistake, I can't even say how offensive it is for me as a gay. He is just another disgusting straight man whose carrier is based on making fun from gay people.

People love to hate. I'm pretty sure Brandy's Cinderella trailer was just as bad but it turned out to be great. And this trailer isn't bad at all.

Anyways my fave Cinderella is Ever After with Drew Barrymore. So I don't mind original takes on classic fairytales.

I do however want to see some gruesome takes on the traditional fairy tales.

Like the original story was actually very bloody with people mutilating their feet to fit into the slipper. That's a take on Cinderella nobody does.

I wouldn't mind a Ryan Murphy American Horror Fairytales series. Each year a different fairytale.

The trailer for Amazon Prime's live-action Cinderella, starring pop singer and former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello in the titular role, dropped today and Twitter users have had a field day with it—and a familiar face in its cast.

Social media was alight with critical takes of both the movie writ-large and the inclusion of James Corden:

There has also been an abundance of positive reception to the clip, and its been retweeted thousands of times

Not The Real Gaga

The original idea for this movie came from James Corden himself, and he has produced it. So, of course he has given himself a minor role in the movie (who wouldn't have done that).

Also, I am not a James Corden fan, but I did find his performance in The Prom good and touching. He can act (he might not be the best actor, but as long as he has fun, why would I complain?) and is a big name, so it makes sense he is there.

First off, we really don't need another Cinderella movie, especially not a mere 6 years after Disney's live action one. And we definitely don't need a woke re-telling. I feel like I've already seen the entire movie through the trailer which is never a good sign and the cover songs really don't fit. And as soon as I heard Somebody To Love, I immediately thought they'd flat-out copied Ella Enchanted. Seriously, that was a terrible decision. The movie even has the name Ella in it and based on the Cinderella story so there's no excuse for that. I'd totally forgotten that Billy Porter was going to be the fairy godmother, which I think, if you're going to do a gender reversal on such a role, you have to do full-on drag. For someone presenting as male (and it appears that Billy's pronouns are he/him) to refer to himself as a fairy godmother is just not it. And James Corden being dropped in for "comedy" relief is the last straw. I wouldn't be surprised if some actors are asking to be removed from a film if James signs up to it because any movie he's been in recently seems to get highly criticised. Little girls really aren't in need of a woke Cinderella as much as we think they are. The majority of us watched it as kids and not one of us grew into adults still wanting to marry a prince and nothing else. Society kinda doesn't allow for that possibility. Give your children more progressive literature from other sources if you must but leave fairytales as they are.
