When nobody really listens to artists

Hope this doesn’t get ignored :huntyga:

rewatching Gaga on Howard Stern inat 2011, and if I recall correctly in that interview she talked about not her intention with the fans to “emulate” her and she always said in her concerts that she wants people to feel better about themselves rather than about her. But I bet nobody really listened to her or many other artists for some time :saladga:

so here are my thoughts, I’m not elevating Gaga to a divine figure to follow strictly what she preached, but When it comes to the artists work or themselves it’s important listen to their vision

but many fans including myself cosplayed her in as many events as we could and ofc at concerts at least in her first 6 years.:huntyga:

If we watched every interview and everything why didn’t we pay attention to her main intention:saladga:, to wear whatever the **** we liked not trying to emulate someone else’s style

I feel it was a combo of the Gaga madness in her early years and having young obsessive following fans, and the business around her image.

But it’s really impressing how artists directly say something and everybody ignores it and only years later people realize that they have been saying it for a long time

Well, it would have also been weird if she plain out just said "yes, please dress like me".
Fans like to recreate looks, others get inspired by her style or are a fan of Gaga because they share her style.

For every fan that emulates/emulated her looks, you can also perfectly find one that didn't/doesn't. And both of them could follow/have followed their own style.

she talked about cosplays etc here

she wants you to worship yourself, not her
but tours or things like that are cultural experiences and it's part of the fun of the show

red wine, cheap perfume and a filthy pout

But cosplaying her is like a kind of tribute to her, isn't it?

I mean it's part of yourself too dressing like her to go to a concert or event. You don't have to dress "normaly".

Like how she has described her mental health in detail and how hard she finds it being Lady Gaga some days and how overworked and depressed she was.. yet a LOT of her fandom just drag her constantly for not working at the pace of an up and coming artist?!!

Being and dressing however you want, even if it's emulating or a tribute to someone else is exactly the point. She's not saying "don't be like me", she's just saying be whomever you want to be. If cosplaying her or other artists is what you wanna do, she's not knocking that at all.

I can't be free if my hands are tied... 🧟‍♀️👰🏻

What you posted is totally true, but don't take that literally as the Word of the Lord... Gaga also said durng an ARTPOP-era interview that they intentionally choose looks for music videos that fans will be able to create in their own homes. That's why they did the Garden Panty/Seashell Girl and the Glove Bra from APPLAUSE. I'd imagine that's also where a lot of the ideas for the Tribes came from. The Green Tribe's looks strongly suggest taking a trip to your local Michael's and loading up on plastic pothos and doing a full Poison Ivy Drag serve :hor:

You know something else Gaga said? "People take me too seriously yet also not seriously enough."

My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <3
