Baby One More Time is an iconic tune. 

What You Waiting For is excellent but I don't really consider it a debut given GS had her start in No Doubt. 

Baby One More Time still sounds fresh. 

Whay You Waiting For sounds like Hash Pipe by Weezer

Gwen's song was an excellent debut for her solo career but Britney's song was absolutely massive back then and is one of the best pop songs ever so there's no competition here.

Baby one more time is iconic, legendary, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, **** on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it.

I did because she's losing, but honestly, I prefer "Baby One More Time." I don't think I heard "What You Waiting For" until a couple of months ago when I rediscovered Gwen and ND, but then I hated Love Angel Music Baby when it came out because I was ticked off that the band was on hiatus and felt like she'd sold out.
