FfFfFfFF 58,371 Posted July 17, 2021 Share Posted July 17, 2021 A zebra foal has been born at Paignton Zoo in Devon, England. The Hartmann’s zebra born on the 18th of July is a vulnerable species. She was born to Taru the mother and Jabali the father. Curator of mammals at the zoo, Lisa Britton said, “This new arrival is great news. The Hartmann’s zebra is classed as vulnerable because its population is susceptible to decreasing, so this is a great achievement not only for Paignton Zoo but for the species as a whole.” Otherwise known as mountain zebra, they are endemic to West Africa and are classified as vulnerable according to the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Red List.
