Horny Chicken 9,012
I know a few non binary people from school and they don’t mind either pronouns.
Karen Smith 10,026
Cute. Btw I was thinking they will use "we are" instead of "I am", cause if it's them, I dont get why they use "I", right? I mean "they" is plural so that's why I was thinking that way.

I think it'll be "I" either way as it's genderless and they is used in the singular in this context, it can be used to refer to one or more people Like a poem said by a neydy in red

It's about gender not number though. "They", when referring to one person, is actually singular not plural. It has existed since the Middle Ages in its singular form actually! Plus, "I" is gender neutral so need for another pronoun to replace it. Soft, soothing, and succulent

Transpeople have it so anything outside their sex can trigger them as they feel more the opposite gender. But with nonbinary they say they feel nothing, very neutral, or both female and male, if they have gender dysphoria then they are trans who don't abide by gender stereotypes which by the way many don't (i don't). It's your freedom to see and categorize yourself as you please, but I dont understand the concept of a gender neutral pronoun if the other pronouns don't trigger you, just because it's a hassle in everyday life to remember each and everyone's pronoun and you often forget and misgender because it's not natural and your brain can't adjust. Also there are now many other pronouns you have to memorize, it's unrealistic. Also it's my opinion only but I think everyone is nonbinary because everyone is not a stereotype of a gender, it's impossible to be. There are women who dress like men everyday and do "men" activities, but activities, clothes, attitude, personnality cannot be gendered!!! Therefore if nothing is gendered because it makes no sense, then not abiding to them is just not abiding to societal ideas of genders, which many don't, so you're not special if you're nonbinary, many aren't. If you have dysphoria you are trans. Just how I see it.

Applies to most scenarios. People just want an excuse to be angry and attack people. It's gross and manipulative. One thing I like about Caitlyn is that she doesn't get hung up on that stuff and yet most people have naturally shifted to using "she". Unfortunately the younger generations are being raised to be super offended and traumatised by every perceived slight. Whether it's personal to them or bc some pop star wasn't called their prefered pronoun. it's really not helping the situation at all. 😇

Mkay. Not to mention trans people can be trans while not having dysphoria. It isn't always that black and white. spicemuncher 1,708
The whole pronouns issue is ridiculous to me as an Arabic speaker. It’s not a simple matter of he/she. Much like some other languages in the world, verbs and nouns also have genders and making it a they/them situation would result in plurals. I can’t even explain it properly... That said, if it’s what you prefer, I understand and respect that, it’s cool. But maybe that should be what you expect from your inner circle? Your preference shouldn’t be made a mandate for the entire world to just have to deal with. If the way you present yourself leans more towards male OR female, you should expect people to address you in the corresponding pronouns. You declaring what you prefer in a little social media bio will not suffice for everyone in the real world to know them by heart.

Citrom 646
Mod edit: This post has been given a permanent Discriminatory Post warn. I don’t really understand this, it’s exaggeration for me. Like not natural at all and i really don’t think that this is useful or anything for (self)accaptance. Also learn Finnish or Hungarian language we don’t use genders at all
