How are you going to say you album celebrates motherhood, birth, and post-pregnancy bodies when your body is photoshopped and tightened with plastic surgery? It would be more radical and beautiful if it were showing a true post-pregnancy body.

This just reeks of attention seeking and also weirdly sexualizing herself as a mother; like why do women have to constantly strive to look sexy, it's so f**king annoying. Just let us be women, not objects of male desires.

not only it's not that photoshopped, but what surgery? lol

it was done before she was visible pregnant, that's it

also, she has endometriosis, multiple miscarriages and was trying to have a baby for years

so keep comments about attention to yourself

This is a public forum, so no I won't: I can state my opinion even if people disagree.

My point still stands: she stated in part of her post "This cover image celebrates pregnant and postpartum bodies as something beautiful, to be admired". Like cool, yeah I'm on board and love that concept.

But pregnant/postpartum bodies are not perfect and dolled up, and my issue with it is she's pushing this image like they need to be--I guess to keep up with the whole "sexual being" message, as if women constantly need to be presenting as sexual and desirable even while carrying a child.

idk what you see on that cover, but she has a dress on and one boob out

not swimsuit and perfectly flat stomach

women don't need to be sexual all the time, but they can

even as mothers, even after giving a birth

you have a problem with pushing a false image, but you're doing the same thing now

and saying that someone with her past is seeking attention is not an opinion, but ignorant comment without any fact behind it

Thing is though, her breast being out on the cover is not meant to be “sexy”, it is very obviously implying breastfeeding, hence the haphazardly undone brazier and the baby on her lap on the same side as the exposed breast. I’m sure I don’t have to explain to you why she chose to depict this very normal act, but in case I do…it has become very, very popular to criticize and bully women for breastfeeding in public. This has been a major controversy throughout the 2010s. She described this album as a celebration of the post-pregnancy woman and breastfeeding is a part of that. If you want to imply that breastfeeding is somehow sexual or find any sort of sexual connotations in it in any way, then you can join the crowd who have tried to ban women from doing it publicly because that is more often than not their reasoning.

Um... I'm aware as I'm a woman who follows women's issues. I'm not sure where y'all are getting the idea that because I think this cover is dumb now all the sudden I want to ban women from breastfeeding and I should shut up because I don't know her f**king life story. Talk about straw manning.

I'm aware she is trying to "reference" an art piece depicting the Madonna with her child and do all these very cool and very striking visuals, but it falls flat. It falls flat because to me she's putting being sexual before the motherhood part and it's insulting.

I'm also not saying that mothers should be these sexless beings after they pop babies out, in case y'all come after me and say that, but she seems to put a lot of emphasis on mothers being sexual beings after, and it's harmful to women already who have more than enough bs standards set by men on how to appear thanks to these same celebrities who enforce it and emphasize how hot and bangable they look after having a child.

There's a lot of cool and revolutionary art about celebrating women's bodies (old, young, pregnant, ill, etc) out there by women, but Halsey trying to capitalize on it is just not it for me.

saying that you should know things about the person you're talking about instead of making false assumptions is straw manning? ok

you're saying stuff about men and hurtful standards
but you're using them in your own comments

there's more to the sexuality of a woman than capitalizing on it and pleasing men
not to say AGAIN, that she has a boob out, nothing more

don't like it? you don't have to
but leave women who do alone and stop calling them attention seekers
