I can't remember the last time I drank Coca-Cola. But there is no doubt that it is VERY popular. I know several people who drink more C-C than water  Here in Mexico it is the most consumed beverage. Pepsi has a bad reputation of being a tasteless copy of C-C.

Thank God I never drink Coke, although that's not enough, they're huge and have tons of brands under their umbrella, boycotting them is nearly impossible

Yeah, it's a cultural thing. Here in Quebec Pepsi was more popular for years because of an ad campaign with one of our most well-known comedians :
